With this we are looking at the relative amount of times users have searched for a franchise’s brand in Google. We are only looking at Google because Google is currently the only search engine that releases this type of data to the public. We will be using Google Insights to run our analysis.

From the data above we can see that from brand search volume alone the break down looks like this:

1. Remax
2. Century 21
3. Prudential
4. Coldwell Banker
5. Keller Williams

Web Traffic Analysis

With out having direct access to a web site’s analytic software its nearly impossible to guess how much traffic a website receives. However, there are many tools available to help us make educated guesses. The tools we will use here to get a relative assessment of web traffic are, Google Trends, Alexa, and Compete.com.

From the data above it looks like Remax has a very strong lead. However, lets take a look at Alexa for further analysis.

On the Alexa chart above we can see all of the stats are more condensed with Remax and Century 21 up and the top and the others moving back and forth underneath them.

Despite the fact that Google’s data was starkly different than the other two it is apparent that based on web traffic analysis these sites can be organized in the following order

1. remax.com
2. century21.com
3. coldwellbanker.com
4. prudential.com
5. kw.com

Search engine optimization can be a successful marketing tool for any corporation.

Final Analysis

While there are many different ways to rank web sites its hard to argue that the different types of analysis above aren’t some of the most important. To install:

1. Using FTP, upload the entire google-realestate-maps folder into your wp-content/plugins folder like so: wp-content/plugins/google-realestate-maps/
2. Login to your admin panel and go to your plugins control panel and activate the Google Real Estate Maps Plugin

To configure:

1. Go to the Google Real Estate Maps settings page at: /wp-admin/tools.php?page=google-real-estate-map
2. Add a new map by inputting your city and state.
3. The height & width are optional fields. If left blank a default size will be set.
4. Click “SAVE THIS MAP”
5. Copy insert code and paste into pages and post where you want your maps to appear.
